Also presents the steps required to settle an estate and discusses the importance of having a will, the gift and estate transfer tax system, state death and estate taxes, trusts and planning estates of business owners.

“Foundations of Financial Planning FA 262” 8AM to 10AM
Provides an overview of the major components that make up a comprehensive financial plan, including the six-step planning process, insurance planning, risk management, employee benefits planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning and estate planning. The course also covers Social Security and Medicare and their importance as the foundation of a client’s financial plan.

 NEW CE REQUIREMENTS

Maryland House Bill 1589 Passed the House & the Senate

Beginning January 1, 2009:

License renewals will be for 12 to 36 months

until the last day of your birth month.

Licenses will then renew every 2 years on the

last day of your birth month.

For Renewals Beginning October 1, 2009:

ALL agents will need 24 CE Credits to renew.

Three Ethics credits must be included

Two Long Term Care credits must be included

Exceptions:

:

If you have been licensed in Maryland for 25 consecutive years

as of August 1, 2008, you only need 8 credits. If your 25 year

date comes after 8/1/08 you will still need 24 credits to renew.

Of your 8 credits, you still need:

Three Ethics credits must be included

Two Long Term Care credits must be included
